Cookie Policy

We believe in full transparency about the technologies we use. Here's exactly what cookies are set when you visit StatFlare and why.

Last updated: April 13, 2026

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, improve efficiency, and provide information to site owners. Similar technologies include web beacons, pixel tags, and local storage — we refer to all of these collectively as 'cookies' in this policy.

Cookies We Use

Authentication cookiesEssential

When you sign in with Google or GitHub, Supabase Auth sets a secure session cookie to keep you logged in across pages and browser sessions. These are strictly necessary — disabling them will log you out and prevent sign-in.

Theme preferenceFunctional

We store your light/dark mode preference in your browser's localStorage so it persists across sessions. This is a local storage entry rather than a traditional cookie, and it contains no personal information.

Google AdSense advertising cookiesAdvertising

StatFlare displays ads via Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — to serve personalised ads based on your interests and previous visits to our site and other sites across the internet. These cookies are set by Google, not by StatFlare directly. You can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.

Vercel AnalyticsAnalytics

We use Vercel Analytics for cookieless, privacy-friendly page-view analytics. No personal data or cookies are used for this purpose.

Third-Party Cookies

Google AdSense and other Google services may set cookies on your device when you visit StatFlare. These are governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. StatFlare does not control third-party cookies. Our hosting providers (Vercel and Render) may also set standard session cookies for security and performance purposes.

Managing & Disabling Cookies

  • Browser settings: Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies via Settings → Privacy. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions.
  • Opt out of Google personalised ads: Visit adssettings.google.com to manage your Google ad personalisation preferences.
  • EU/EEA users: Visit youronlinechoices.eu to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.
  • US users: Visit optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org.
  • Note: Blocking essential (authentication) cookies will prevent you from signing in to StatFlare.

Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit a 'Do Not Track' (DNT) signal to websites. StatFlare does not currently respond to DNT signals because there is no consistent industry standard for how to respond. We remain committed to minimising data collection and giving you meaningful control over your privacy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new 'Last updated' date.
