How these music charts are measured
Every ranking on this page comes from a chart that someone actually publishes. The order you see is Apple Music's daily most-played chart for the storefront you have selected, read straight from Apple's own public feed. It is recalculated once a day, and the publication timestamp of the exact data you are looking at is printed beneath the table.
Spotify is then used for the thing Spotify can still do well: matching each entry to a real record in its catalogue, so that clicking a row opens that track or album in Spotify rather than a guess. Where a match cannot be made, the row falls back to a Spotify search for the same title and artist. Both outcomes are counted and reported honestly in the line beneath the table.
What you will not find here is a stream count. Neither service publishes per-track play figures through any public interface, so presenting one would mean inventing it. Rank position is a real, verifiable measurement; a fabricated stream total is not, and a number that looks precise but is made up is worse than no number at all.

How to read each figure
- Rank
- The entry's position in that country's daily most-played chart. Rank 1 is the most played. It is a position, not a quantity.
- Country
- The Apple Music storefront the chart belongs to. Each storefront publishes its own independent ranking rather than a slice of a global list.
- Songs vs Albums
- Two separate charts. The songs chart ranks individual tracks; the albums chart ranks full releases. A hit single and its parent album often sit at very different positions.
- Matched to Spotify
- How many entries were successfully resolved to a record in Spotify's catalogue. Unmatched rows link to a Spotify search instead, and are never given a fabricated link.
- Updated
- The publication timestamp of the underlying chart data, taken from the source feed itself rather than from when you loaded the page.
- Cached
- The response was served from this site's six-hour cache rather than re-fetched. The chart only changes once a day, so a cached result is not a stale one.
Why Spotify no longer shows popularity or follower counts
If you have looked for a Spotify popularity checker or a monthly listener tracker recently and found that nothing works any more, this is why. In February 2026 Spotify published a set of Web API changes that removed a large amount of previously public data, and the removals were permanent rather than deprecations with a replacement.
The popularity field was deleted from artists, tracks and albums. The followers field was deleted from the artist object. The endpoints returning an artist's top tracks and the new-releases browse feed were removed outright, along with the batch lookups for artists, tracks and albums.
This followed an earlier round in November 2024 that had already ended access to audio features, audio analysis, recommendations, related artists, thirty-second preview clips, and — most relevant to this page — editorial and algorithmic playlists, the category that Spotify's own Top 50 charts belong to.
Monthly listeners were never available through the API at any point. The practical result is that no tool, including this one, can show you a live Spotify popularity score, follower count or monthly listener figure today. Where you see those numbers presented as current, they are either cached from before the change or estimated. This page shows what can still be verified, and says so plainly where something cannot.

The chart at the top of this page shows the current number one, updated every day. Pick a country from the dropdown to see that storefront's own number one — the top song in the United States is frequently different from the top song in India, the United Kingdom or Brazil.
Does this show Spotify's official Top 50 playlist?
No, and no free tool can. Spotify's Top 50 playlists are editorial and algorithmic playlists, and Spotify blocked API access to those for every application created after November 2024. Rather than guess at those numbers, this page uses Apple Music's public daily chart — a real, independently published ranking — and links each entry to its matching track on Spotify.
How often does this chart update?
Apple Music republishes the underlying chart once a day, and this page refreshes its cached copy every six hours. The exact publication timestamp of the data you are looking at is shown directly beneath the table.
Why do some entries not link directly to a Spotify track?
Each entry is matched to Spotify's catalogue by searching for its title and artist. A small number never match — usually a regional release, or a title spelled differently on each service, such as a remix suffix or a featured-artist credit. Those rows link to a Spotify search for the track instead, which still takes you to the right place.
Why does Spotify no longer show popularity scores or follower counts?
Spotify removed them. Its February 2026 API changes deleted the popularity field from artists, tracks and albums, and deleted the follower count from the artist object entirely. The same release removed the artist top-tracks and new-releases endpoints. Those numbers are no longer available to any application, so any tool still displaying them is showing you a cached or estimated figure rather than live data.
Are these numbers stream counts?
No. This page shows rank position only. Neither Apple nor Spotify publishes per-track stream counts through a public interface, so there is no stream figure anywhere on this page — an invented one would be worse than none.
Is this free, and do I need to log in?
It is completely free and there is no login, no account and no trial. Every country and both the songs and albums charts are available to everyone, and the full ranking can be exported to CSV.
Can I see charts for countries other than the United States?
Yes. The country selector covers major storefronts including the United Kingdom, India, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Nigeria and more. Each one is that country's own chart, not a filtered view of a global list.
