StatFlare Analytics Privacy Policy
StatFlare Analytics is a browser extension, separate from the main StatFlare website. Here's exactly what it reads, what it sends, and what it never touches.
What StatFlare Analytics Does
StatFlare Analytics is a browser extension that overlays StatFlare analytics — subscriber count, total views, video count, and latest-video stats on YouTube; followers and live status on Twitch — directly on the channel page you're already viewing, with a link through to the full StatFlare dashboard for more detail.
What It Reads From the Page
A content script running on youtube.com and twitch.tv reads the current page's URL to extract the channel handle or username (e.g. "@mkbhd" or "shroud"). It does not read page content, video content, comments, your watch history, or anything else on the page.
The extension does not know who you are on YouTube or Twitch, does not access your account, subscriptions, watch history, chat messages, or any logged-in state. It has no visibility into anything requiring you to be signed in to those sites.
What It Sends, and to Whom
The extracted channel handle or username is sent to StatFlare's own API at www.statflare.in — the same public API the main StatFlare website uses to power its dashboards — to fetch that channel's public statistics (subscriber count, view count, follower count, etc). That request is tagged so it isn't logged as a real dashboard visit in StatFlare's search history. No other data — no browsing history, no personal identifiers, no device fingerprinting — is sent anywhere by this extension.
Third Parties
The only network destination this extension talks to is www.statflare.in. It does not integrate any analytics SDK, ad network, or third-party tracker of its own. StatFlare's backend, in turn, fetches the underlying public statistics from the YouTube Data API and Twitch's Helix API — the same sources the main StatFlare dashboard already uses.
Why Each Permission Is Requested
- Host permission for www.statflare.in — lets the extension's background service worker fetch channel statistics from StatFlare's API. This is the only remote host it can reach.
- Content script access to youtube.com and twitch.tv — lets the extension detect which channel page you're on and render the overlay card. It runs in an isolated context and does not modify the underlying page.
Storage & Retention
The extension keeps no local storage of its own and no browsing history — each overlay lookup is a fresh request, and nothing about it persists after you close the tab or dismiss the card. StatFlare's backend applies the same short-lived caching to these lookups as it does to a normal dashboard visit; see StatFlare's main Privacy Policy for how the underlying API data is cached.
Your Control
- Dismiss any overlay card at any time with its close (×) button.
- Disable or remove the extension at any time via your browser's extensions page — no account, no StatFlare login, and no data deletion request is needed since nothing is stored.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the extension's feature set changes (e.g. adding a new supported platform). The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
